How to read a listing
Every list on this site runs A to Z. Always. No one can pay to move up it. Here's what everything else means.
Why the alphabet
A directory that can be paid up isn't a directory, it's an advert in disguise. Order the list any other way and you're not reading who's nearest — you're reading who spent most.

Why some names are bold
A bold name has the word checked beside it. It means two things are true at once: an official public record matches that business, and somebody has confirmed the listing recently — us in person, the owner themselves, or enough people locally saying it still looks right.
That's all it means. Not better, not recommended, not higher up. It's free, every business earns it the same way, and there is no version of it that can be bought. Move the money, and nothing moves at all — bold changes how a name looks, never where it sits.

Most listings aren't marked. That's usually just nobody having been past recently.
What you can pay us for
Some businesses pay us for tools: a way to reach the people who already follow them, and a count of how many are waiting. None of it shows on the listing as a badge, none of it changes the order, and none of it hides anything true about a business that doesn't pay.
Where each fact came from
Every fact says where it came from, so you don't have to assume.
- From open data. Pulled from OpenStreetMap or another public source, and labelled as such.
- Checked in person. Someone from Kist went, or phoned, and the date is on the page.
- Not recently confirmed. Nobody's checked in a while. We'd rather say so than let it sit there looking current.
That last one is the honest bit. A directory that never admits it's out of date is just guessing with confidence. If something looks wrong to you, it might be — tell us.
A date you can act on beats a promise you can't check.
